Nathan Johnson 7.28.06

died on Friday (July 28th) morning. Nathan was on his way to football practice that morning and was running late. We don't believe that he was speeding excessively because he was always late and it was kind of expected from him at football practice. For some reason as he neared the school he for some reason gradually began to drift into the other lane and hit a cement truck head-on. He was NOT on the phone with his mother, or anyone for that matter. His jeep then flipped and landed in Mike Hurst's yard. It did not flip seven times like the rumers have said, there wasn't enough space between the point of impact and where the jeep landed for it to flip seven times. The Hurst's heard the crash and came out and found him there and called 911. After they called for help they called Andrew, Nathan's brother, who was down the street at Long Hollow Baptist where he was interning. He arrived on the scene and then called his parents. Meanwhile, an EMT vehicle arrived on he scene and tried to get an IV into Nathan while they then called for lifeflight. Nate's mom then arrived and there were fourteen minutes between the time they called for the lifeflight and the time that it arrived . In that time Nate was in and out of conscousness. His mom stood by cheering him on and encouraging the medical people. No one is really sure if he got to talk to Mrs. Cathy (his mom). He had a broken femur in his left leg and his ankle was broken around the pedal of his car. When they were finally able to pull him out he went unconscous and he wouldn't wake up after that. He died on the way to the hospital.
Nathan Johnson was one of the most Godly people I know. He was always smiling, and witnessing to people. On stage, you could just tell...there was something different about him. He radiates God's love. Nathan had a Faith I could only ever dream of having. He was a genuine Christian. Not just a nominal Christian. He live out his faith everyday. Nathan was in the band Through A Glass. They were to do a show last night at RCKTWN. They did just what i believe Nathan would have wanted. They went, shared the Gospel, and most of all praised Him(the Lord) through the pain. I may have not known Nathan as well as most people, but what I did know of him he was just an amazing guy. My prayers go out to his family, Through a Glass, and all his other friends. And would ask and encourage you to do the same thing. It would mean a lot to everyone. Including me. There is no doubt where Nathan is now, it is where I am going to be when the Lord calls me home..in Heaven! Nathan we love you!
Isaiah 57:1-2 - The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
I had to change it due to false information in the first one. Sorry.
